Covid-19 Death Rate Higher in Least Vaccinated States
DeIn the least vaccinated states about 8 people out of every 100,000 residents died of Covid-19 over the past week compared to only 2 out of every 100,000 people in the 10 most vaccinated states. Data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shows an average of 39 Covid-19 hospitalizations per every 100,000 people in the least which is nearly three times higher than the average rate of 14 per every 100,000 people in the 10 most vaccinated states. The states with the least amount of fully vaccinated residents are Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming.
Also in Coronavirus news, President Biden announced today that the United States will be sending an additional 500 million doses of the Coronavirus vaccine to foreign nations next year. This was announced at a virtual summit with the UN General Assembly. The extra doses will be donated to low and lower-middle income countries around the world. The U.S. previously committed to sharing 500 million with other nations and those original doses will begin shipping out in January through September of next year.
