Coroner Rules Gabby Petito’s Death a Homicide
More details surrounding the disappearance of Gabby Petitio have been released. Authorities confirmed yesterday that the remains found on Sunday at the Bridger-Teton National Forest in Wyoming are those of Gabby Petito. The FBI tweeted that Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue ruled the manner of death a homicide in his preliminary finding and said “the cause of death remains pending final autopsy results.” The FBI encourages anyone with information who may have had contact with Petito or Brian Laundrie or who visited the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area between August 27 through the 30 or may have seen their vehicle to report it.
Petito disappeared while on a roadtrip exploring national parks with Laundrie. Authorities in Florida are still searching for Laundrie who has not been seen in about a week after telling his parents he was going to a nature reserve near their home in Florida. Before Laundrie’s parents told police he had left the home on September 14th, he had refused to talk with investigators and the family directed them to their attorney. On Monday, investigators searched the families home and removed a number of items including a hard drive and they also towed away a Ford Mustang convertible.
