Two Hospitalized After Navy Plane Crashes in Texas Neighborhood

Two people were injured after a military plane crashed in a residential area in Texas. According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, a pilot instructor and a student were hospitalized after being ejected from the plane during an exercise. Police were notified about the crash in the 4000 block of Tejas and Dakota Trails around 10:53 a.m. and found one person who had been ejected from the plane caught in nearby power lines, another who was also ejected was found in a nearby neighborhood. The two were conducting a routine training flight that originated from Corpus Christi International Airport.

According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, three people in the homes were treated and released at the scene. Fire Chief Ryan Author said “this incident could’ve been much worse knowing that this plane went down in a residential area here in Lake Worth.” According to a statement from the chief of Naval Air Training, the instructor is in stable condition but the student’s condition is unknown. The cause of the crash is also unknown and the Navy is assisting with the investigation.
