SpaceX Launches Rocket From Kennedy Space Center

SpaceX launched four people to space last night from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The rocket fired it’s 9 engines shortly after 8 p.m. and after reaching speeds of over 17,000 miles per hour, the capsule carrying the four passengers detached from the rocket and flew into space. If you were outside along the Grand Strand last night, there’s a chance you might have seen it!

The four on board included 38 year old Jared Isaacman, a billionaire who self funded the mission, 29 year old Hayley Arceneux, a childhood cancer survivor and current St. Jude physician assistant, 51 year old Sian Proctor, a geologist and community college teacher with a PHD, and 42 year old Chris Sembroski, a Lockheed Martin employee and lifelong space fan. The crew will remain aboard the capsule for the next three days while it flies through orbit before landing off the coast of Florida on Saturday.
