7 Inmates at Florence County Detention Center Test Positive For Covid-19

7 inmates at the Florence County Detention Center have tested positive for the Coronavirus. According to Major Michael Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, an inmate had been taken to a hospital last week for an unrelated cause and was routinely tested for the virus, that test came back positive. Nunn said that’s when they tested all 72 inmates in the unit and seven others also received positive results.. The unit was immediately placed in quarantine to prevent further spread and inmates are being monitored by medical staff. All of them will be tested again on September 20th.
