SpaceX Preparing for ‘Inspiration4’ Mission
SpaceX is preparing to send four people to outer space for a once in a lifetime experience later today. The mission called ‘Inspiration4’ is the first mission in history to be staffed entirely by tourists. Launch of the 200 foot tall SpaceX rocket is scheduled for between 8:02 p.m. and 1:02 a.m. from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. During the three day journey, the four people aboard the rocket will free-fly through Earth’s orbit whipping around the planet once every 90 minutes while passengers float and take in panoramic views of Earth.
At the end of the journey, the spacecraft will dive back into the atmosphere and splash down off the coast of Florida. 38 year old Jared Isaacman, 29 year old Hayley Arceno, 51 year old Sian Proctor and 42 year old Chris Sembroski will be onboard the rocket. Isaacman will become the third billionaire to self-fund a trip to space in the past three months and the first to buy a trip to orbit on a SpaceX capsule.
