Alex Murdaugh’s License Suspended by South Carolina Supreme Court Following Shooting

Following up on the Murdaugh shooting that happened in Hampton County on Saturday the South Carolina Supreme Court has suspended the law license of Alex Murdaugh. Following accusations from his former law firm. They released a statement claiming Alex Murdaugh had resigned from the firm prior to the shooting for what is being referred to as a ‘misappropriation of funds.’  According to Alex Murdaugh, he was shot Saturday on the side of a road while changing a tire and was taken to a hospital in Savannah Georgia and treated for a ‘superficial gunshot wound to the head’ three months after he discovered the bodies of his wife and son shot dead outside their home. According to the firm, Peters, Murdaugh, Parker, Eltzroth & Detrick, Murdaugh had resigned on Friday and “his resignation came after the discovery that alex misappropriated funds in violation of their standards and policies.” The statement also said that “a forensic accounting firm will be retained to conduct a thorough investigation.
