Coroner Identifies Pedestrian Killed By Tractor-Trailer on Highway 501

Horry County Coroner Tamara Willard has identified the pedestrian that was killed after being hit by a tractor-trailer on Highway 501 on Monday morning near Conway. According to Willard, 54 year old Christopher Ford of Florence died at the scene after sustaining multiple traumatic injuries in the crash that happened around 2:40 a.m. on Highway 501 near Secondary 591. The tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on 501 when it struck Ford, the driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
