CDC Adds Additional Destinations to ‘High Risk’ Travel List

Yesterday the CDC added 6 destinations to it’s ‘very high’ Covid-19 travel risk list. According to the agency, people should avoid traveling to locations designated with the ‘Level 4: Covid-19 very high’ notice, which include the Bahamas, Haiti, Kosovo, Lebanon, Morocco and Sint Maarten. The CDC recommends that anyone who must travel to those areas be fully vaccinated and also recommends avoiding all international travel until fully vaccinated.

The CDC’s list of travel notices ranges from Level 1 which is ‘low’ to Level 4 which is ‘very high’. According to CDC criteria, destinations that fall into the ‘very high’ category have had more than 500 cases per 100,000 residents in the past 28 days. And Level 3 applies to destinations that have had between 100 and 500 cases per 100,000 residents in the past 28 days. Ten destinations were added to the ‘Level 3’ list as well.
