SCDPS Launches ‘Sober or Slammer’ Campaign

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety launched a new campaign on Friday aimed at reducing the number of impaired driving accidents in the state. During the ‘Sober or Slammer’ campaign which runs from now until September 6th, a heavy presence of highway patrol will be out on the roads looking for anyone who may be driving under the influence. According to SCDPS, nearly half of all deadly crashes in the state involve an impaired driver and nearly 22,000 DUI arrests were made last year.
