Three U.S. Senators Have Tested Positive for the Coronavirus

Three U.S. Senators have announced they’ve tested positive for the Coronavirus. Yesterday, Angus King of Maine, Roger Wicker of Mississippi and John Hickenlooper of Colorado announced their positive results…adding all three were vaccinated. King said he was tested yesterday morning after feeling ‘mildly feverish’ on Wednesday, Wicker was also experiencing mild symptoms and Hickenlooper announced his diagnosis late in the afternoon. Each are isolating in their respective states.

The Senate is not in session this week due to their August recess but is scheduled to return next month. Earlier this month, Senator Lindsey Graham announced his positive diagnosis and a handful of members of the House of Representatives also announced theirs in July. The CDC has reported around 8,000 breakthrough cases resulting in severe disease or death out of 166 million fully vaccinated Americans.
