New Highway 90 Resolution Will Not Have An Exact End Date

Horry County leaders say they’ll approve rezoning requests for ‘good projects’ along Highway 90 from U.S. 501 business in Conway to S.C. 22. That area is included in the county’s rezoning resolution that they approved Tuesday. The resolution is aimed at limiting high-density rezoning’s along a portion of the highway until the funding to fix it is secured. It also states that county leaders “desire to limit further rezoning’s within one and a half miles of Highway 90 from U.S. 501 Business in Conway to S.C. 22 until such a time as 90 is improved to handle additional capacity.” Horry County Councilman Danny Hardee said rezoning requests will still be approved but only if leaders think it will help the area.
