Horry County Fire Rescue Reports July As Busiest Month of Year
The Horry County Fire Rescue reported July as it’s busiest month of the year. First responders worked over 7,000 calls with an average of over 220 per day. They’re expecting August to be even busier considering hurricane season and the number of Coronavirus cases growing along the Grand Strand. Horry County Fire Rescue aims to hire 50 new first responders to better serve the community. According to Horry County Government, the department has positions available for firefighter/paramedic starting at $45,000 a year and firefighter/EMT starting at $37,500 a year.
