At Least Two Homes Destroyed During Overnight Fire in Ocean Isle

Crews were called to the scene on the west end of the island at 9:30 p.m. when at least one home was completely on fire.

At least two homes were destroyed in a fire in Ocean Isle last night. Crews were called to the scene on the west end of the island at 9:30 p.m. when at least one home was completely on fire. According to Ocean Isle Mayor Debbie Smith, a second home also caught fire but thankfully everyone made it out okay. Ocean Isle Police shut down the bridge to the area for a short time. Horry County Fire Rescue assisted with the call. No word on the cause.
