Senators are Expected to Vote on the Massive $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill Today
Also in the Senate, lawmakers are expected to vote on the massive $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill today.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced yesterday evening that Republicans and Democrats have reached an agreement for final passage of the bill today at 11 a.m. Once the bill passes in the Senate it will go to the House where it will be voted upon before heading to President Biden’s desk for signature. Schumer said “We have come to an agreement after all the long hard negotiating, the stops and starts, we’re here. And it’s a good thing, a very good thing for America.” He added “The Senate can be proud it has passed this, and as we move forward we’re proceeding on both tracks. The track of the bipartisan infrastructure proposal, and the track of the budget resolution with reconciliation instructions.” Once passed, the Senate will switch it’s focus to the budget resolution which needs to pass both chambers before Democrats can move on their $3.5 trillion package.
