DOJ to Review Withheld Information, Documents From September 11th Attacks
The Department of Justice announced yesterday that it will review previously withheld information and documents related to the September 11th attacks. The filing from the Department of Justice comes less than a week after over 1,600 people affected by the attacks released a letter calling on President Biden to refrain from going to Ground Zero to mark the anniversary of the event unless he releases additional documents and information the government has previously blocked. A spokesperson with the DOJ said that the government advised a federal court in Manhattan that the FBI had recently closed an investigation related to certain 9/11 hijackers. President Biden released a statement yesterday praising the decision by the Justice Department saying it follows through on a campaign promise he made to have the department work on the release of the records.
