Tokyo Olympics: Team USA Adds 9 to Official Medal Count
Team usa added more medals to their official count yesterday with the addition of 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 3 Bronze for a total of 91 medals during the games. The United States took silver and bronze in the men’s 200 meter race when Kenny Bednareck and Noah Lyles finished second and third respectively, the women’s soccer team also won a bronze medal. Shot putter Ryan Crouser set an olympic record yesterday and won his second individual gold medal. He dedicated the victory to his late grandfather who died a week before the games began.
Also for Team USA, Joe Kovacs another shot putter won the silver medal in the event. The United States men’s team also overturned a 15 point deficit to beat Australia in basketball. They will go on to play for gold against the winner of the Slovenia-France game tomorrow at 10:30 p.m. Women’s beach volleyball has also advanced to the finals.
