$1 Million Settlement Reached in Wrongful Death Lawsuit

A $1 Million settlement has been reached between the family of Nicolette Green and American Aluminum Accessories. 43 year old Green of Myrtle Beach and 45 year old Wendy Newton of Shallotte N.C. were in the back of a van being transported during Hurricane Florence as mental health patients when two Horry County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Officers drove around a barricade and into floodwaters in Marion County on September 18th. The former deputies, Stephen Flood and Joshua Bishop were indicted in the deaths of Green and Newton and a separate lawsuit filed against the Horry County Sheriff’s Office is still pending.
