Biden Urges Unvaccinated Americans to Get Covid-19 Shots During Town Hall
President Biden held a town hall in Ohio last night. During the event he confronted vaccine misinformation and encouraged unvaccinated Americans to get their shots. He said “there’s legitimate questions people can ask if they worry about getting vaccinated.” He went on to downplay the current surge as a pandemic of those who refused to get their shots and underscored the progress his administration has made during the pandemic.
Top health officials and some White House officials are holding conversations on revising mask recommendations for vaccinated Americans due to the rapid spread of the Delta variant. Earlier this week, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended that everyone over the age of 2 wear masks when they return to school. An official said that any updated guidance would have to come from the CDC itself and another source familiar with the talks said that they aren’t far enough along to make a determination on masks but are weighing the best way to proceed. The Delta variant currently makes up over 80% of cases in the U.S.
