South Carolina DHEC Provides New $23,000 Grant to Educators

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Services has introduced a $23,000 grant to help teach students to be more environmentally conscious. With the ‘Champions of the Environment’ grant, South Carolina educators can apply for grants of up to $2,500 each for projects to teach their students about how to protect the environment around them. The grant is sponsored by the Palmetto Environmental Education Certification Program which helps train and inform school educators about environmental issues in the state. The grant will also help provide a 2 year training course for educators of kindergarten through 12th grade.
