South Carolina Looking to Ban Bradford Pear Trees
The ban is set to begin October 1st.
South Carolina is looking to stop the sale of the Bradford Pear tree. The ban is set to begin October 1st in 2024. That is the annual nursery licensing renewal date. The tree is considered invasive and often prevents native plants from flourishing and is known to omit a foul odor when it begins to bloom in early spring. The ban will make plants illegal to sell and trade but not to have one. You won’t be required to remove them from your property.
