Canada Likely to Reopen Border in August
Fully vaccinated Americans might be able to travel to Canada as early as mid-August.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement yesterday and added that the country could allow vaccinated travelers from all countries by early September. Trudeau stated that if Canada’s current positive path of vaccination rate and public health conditions continue, the border can open. With approximately 80% of eligible Canadians vaccinated with their first dose and over 50% of eligible Canadians fully vaccinated, the country’s case numbers and severe illnesses continue to decline. Earlier this month,
fully vaccinated Canadians or permanent legal residents were finally allowed to return without quarantining. Canada’s restrictions at the border have been in effect since march of last year.
