Charges Expected to be Filed Against Trump Organization and CFO Allen Weissleberg
The Manhattan District Attorney’s office is expected to charge the Trump Organization and it’s Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg as soon as today in connection with tax crimes and an array of perks and benefits awarded to employees. According to sources, the indictments are set to be announced today around 2 p.m. The type or number of charges they are expected to face isn’t clear. Weisselberg surrendered to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office this morning ahead of the expected criminal charges. His attorney Mary Mulligan, issued a statement saying her client “will fight these charges in court.” Weisselberg has worked for the Trump Organization since 1973 and is expected to be arraigned today at a lower Manhattan courthouse. Last year, prosecutors began gathering evidence on Weisselberg with the cooperation of his former daughter-in-law Jennifer Weisselberg. According to her lawyer, Jennifer has spoken to authorities, turned over boxes of financial records and met with investigators multiple times. Documents from the divorce from Weisselberg’s son Barry show thousands of dollars in payments for cars, rent, tuition, medical bills and more from Allen to his son’s family.
