3rd Lawsuit Filed Against Condo Association Following Building Collapse in Florida
A number of lawsuits have popped up following the partial building collapse in Florida. A new class action lawsuit, the 3rd one so far, was filed on Monday against the Champlain Towers South Condominium Association on behalf of Raysa Rodriguez a resident who lives on the 9th floor of the building as well as other residents, states the association had the duty to maintain the building in a safe condition and good working order. Rodriguez is seeking the suit to represent all of the people who were affected by the incident and is asking the court to help preserve any materials so that everyone can be held responsible. She is seeking monetary damages and a jury trial. The death toll has risen to 16 with 145 unaccounted for. President Biden and First Lady Jill are expected to visit the site tomorrow according to the White House. There, they will meet with victims’ families, rescuers and first responders.
