Man Charged in Connection to Fatal Dog Mauling Incident in Marion County
41 year old Lorenzo Cardenas of Marion was placed into police custody yesterday in connection to the dog mauling incident two weeks ago that killed a 7 year old child in Marion county. Marion county Sheriff Brian Wallace said Cardenas is being charged with involuntary manslaughter and animals penalty for the owner of dangerous animal attacks and injures a human 1st offense. 7 year old Shamar Jackson died during the attack. Following the incident six dogs were removed from the home and one has since escaped. Officers are trying to find that dog and detain it. Cardenas is currently being held at the Marion County Detention Center where he awaits his bond hearing.
