Senators Say Infrastructure Deal Reached
Senators on both sides of the aisle have said that an agreement has been made on the framework of a bipartisan infrastructure plan. The agreement was reached last night by White House officials and 10 Senators. The Senators plan to meet with President Biden at the White House today to discuss it. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer said they would try to move the infrastructure package in July.
The total cost of the plan is $1.2 trillion dollars over 8 years. Democrats are also working on their own plan with a much bigger price tag that could also be considered by lawmakers. Not much is known about what is included in the bill and how to pay for it all but once Senators meet with the President that news could be announced. The Senate’s 4th of July recess will begin at the end of this week.
