Bond Revoked For Woman Accused Of Murder

The woman charged in connection to the death of a missing man remains in jail after having her bond revoked. Meagan Jackson and former Horry County Deputy Coroner Chris Dontell are accused of killing 46 year old Gregory Rice. Rice was reported missing on October 5th of 2020 and his body was located along the Little Pee Dee River near Pitts Landing off of Highway 378 on November 8th. At that time Jackson was given a $100,000 bond and was ordered to wear a tracking bracelet and stay on home detention but a motion filed by Senior Assistant Solicitor Mary-Ellen Walker shows that she violated those conditions ‘on numerous occasions’. Jackson was placed back into police custody on June 3rd. On Wednesday, Rice’s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Jackson and Dontell.
