Biden Meeting With Queen Elizabeth, Other Leaders On First International Trip

President Biden is set to take his first international trip since becoming President next week. Yesterday, Buckingham Palace announced that Queen Elizabeth II will be meeting with President Biden during his trip. The meeting between the leaders will take place at Windsor Castle on the 13th. It will be the Queen’s first major meeting following Prince Philip’s death in April. Over the course of her reign, the 95 year old monarch has met with every U.S. President except Lyndon B. Johnson.

President Biden is also set to meet with United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson during his first stop in the UK ahead of the G7 summit in Southwestern England. The President will also meet with other leaders of G7 countries including Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan. After his meeting with the Queen, he’ll be heading to Brussels for the NATO summit where he will meet with Turkey’s President. After that summit he’ll hold a bilateral summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 16th and then travel back to the White House.
