JBS, Biggest Meat Producer In The U.S., Target Of Cyberattack
The biggest meat producer in the United States fell victim to a cyberattack yesterday. In a news release, JBS USA said the attack affected servers supporting it’s IT systems in North America and Australia. JBS said “the company is not aware of any evidence at this time that any customer, supplier or employee data has been compromised or misused as a result of the situation,” and added “resolution of the incident will take time, which may delay certain transactions with customers and suppliers.”
At this time it is unknown who carried out the cyberattack on the company but JBS said they are working with an incident response firm to restore their system as soon as possible. JBS USA is one of the world’s largest food companies, operating in 15 countries and has customers in about 100 countries according to it’s website. Brands the company owns include Pilgrims, Great Southern and Aberdeen Black.
