Manhattan DA Convenes Grand Jury For Probe On Trump Organization

The Manhattan DA has convened a grand jury for the probe on the Trump Organization. The jury is expected to decide whether or not to indict the former President should prosecutors present criminal charges in their probe. The panel could also decide to indict executives at the Trump Organization or the business itself if criminal charges are presented. The grand jury is set to sit for three days a week for the next six months and will hear matters beyond the probe during that time.

In a statement yesterday evening, the former President said “This is a continuation of the greatest witch hunt in American history. It began the day I came down the escalator in Trump Tower, and it’s never stopped.” Over the past two years, investigators have been looking into the Trump Organization and whether or not they misled lenders and insurance companies about the value of properties and paid the appropriate taxes. Prosecutors are combing through millions of pages of documents including Trump’s tax returns. The investigation also encompasses Tump Tower, the family estate known as Seven Springs, it’s hotel and condo tower in Chicago and hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels.
