An hours long hostage standoff ended yesterday in Minnesota in what one police officer calls “the best way possible.” The standoff took place in a Wells Fargo bank in St. Cloud, mMinnesota with no injuries and an arrest. Police Chief Blair Anderson identified the suspect as Ray McNeary, a disgruntled customer who was upset over a prior transaction at the bank. It was unclear if McNeary had a weapon during the incident in which five bank employees were held inside. The police chief said throughout the situation, some of the hostages were released by McNeary, while others ran for the door and made it out. The last hostage that was inside with him also made a run for safety and fortunately tactical units were able to enter behind him and then took McNeary into custody. This isn’t his first run in with the law as police confirmed that they’ve had numerous contacts with him over the past decade, including violent crimes.
