Unusual Encounter at Huntington Beach State Park

A Huntington Beach State Park Ranger spotted something interesting on the beach yesterday. The staff member encountered a beaver along the shoreline! A South Carolina Department of Natural Resources official said this may be the first time they have seen a beaver on the shore. Park ranger Mike Walker said the animal likely made its way there to evade a predator, such as an alligator. Officials urge residents to keep their distance if they ever come across out-of-place wildlife.
