New Mask Guidelines Announced By The CDC
New mask guidelines by the CDC were announced yesterday. Fully vaccinated people can now unmask at small outdoor gatherings and while dining outside with people from other households. The CDC is telling un-vaccinated people that they still need to wear a mask at those gatherings. The agency also advised all people whether vaccinated or not to still avoid large indoor gatherings. Both vaccinated and un-vaccinated people should also wear masks in indoor public places. Wearing masks is still recommended for fully vaccinated people who choose to attend crowded outdoor events such as live performances, parades, or sporting events. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said “Generally, for vaccinated people, outdoor activities without a mask are safe. However, we continue to recommend masking in crowded outdoor settings and venues.” President Biden said “The bottom line is clear, if you’re vaccinated, you can do more things, more safely, both outdoors as well as indoors.”
