According to Realtor.com, the number one spot for buying a second home is Marion, North Carolina! Maybe it’s because the city is known as “Where Main Street Meets the Mountain.” It’s situated in western North Carolina at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and it’s fairly close to Charlotte as well as Asheville. Remote cabins are the most popular buys and there’s plenty of outdoor entertainment. Following up is Sturgis, Michigan, Brainerd, Minnesota, Ruston, Louisiana and Hudson, New York.
