CEO Of Pfizer Says People Who Received Their Covid-19 Vaccine May Need To Get A 3rd Within A Year

According to Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, a 3rd vaccine dose is ‘likely’ needed within a year of original vaccinations. He also said there’s a chance people will need to receive an annual Covid-19 vaccine, claiming  “it is extremely important to suppress the pool of people that can be susceptible to the virus.” Pfizer recently announced trial results indicating the vaccine was highly effective up to 6 months after the second dose. Findings from over 12,000 participants include a 91.3% vaccine efficacy against Covid-19 and over 95% efficacy against severe disease. The company started testing the third shot in February. Bourla said “none of the 400 vaccinated got infected, which was very very good news”. This news comes after researchers at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Stanford Medicine say they started testing the Pfizer vaccine on children as young as two.
