President Biden Announced The Layout For The First Part Of His Infrastructure Plan

President Biden announced his layout for the first part of his infrastructure plan in Pittsburgh yesterday. The $2 trillion proposal focuses on infrastructure and the climate crisis. His next major legislative push the ‘American Jobs Plan’ will invest in rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure and shift to greener energy over the next 8 years. He plans to pay for the proposal by raising corporate taxes and eliminating tax breaks for fossil fuels. The White House says the hike would raise more than $2 trillion over the next 15 years.

Biden said the spending would pay for upgrades to roads, bridges, ports and airports. Included in the plan are investments in transportation, public water, health, broadband systems, community care for seniors, as well as innovation research and development. Biden will hold his first cabinet meeting as President today in the East Room of the White House. The group of 25 confirmed guests is expected to discuss those plans, the $1.9 trillion Covid-19 relief package and other top priorities.
