Congressman Tom Rice Announces Bill That Includes Back-to-Work Bonuses
Congressman Tom Rice has announced a bill that will give back to those who return to work. The Reopening America by Supporting Workers and Businesses Act of 2021 bill was designed to help local businesses rebuild their workforce. The hope is to turn unemployment benefits into a back-to-work bonus that will provide extra incentive to workers and help the economy. One provision of it would be to offer $1,200 for those seeking unemployment to find a full-time job by July 1st. It would be $600 for those who do the same but work part-time. Congressman Rice said job openings are at a record high, yet businesses are struggling to recruit employees. Businesses shouldn’t be competing with unemployment benefits in order to get employees working again.”
