Coroner Identifies Victim in Waterpark Motel Shooting in Myrtle Beach, 8 in Custody
An update on the hotel shooting we told you about yesterday…. The Coroner has identified the victim of the shooting at the Waterpark Motel on South Ocean Boulevard. Officers arrived shortly before 1:30 a.m. and found one person unresponsive on the second floor along with another person who was involved. According to Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden, the person killed was identified as 43 year old Jermaine Stewart of Conway. The shooting is being investigated as a homicide. According to Police, a large amount of drugs were found in the motel room and a person involved was charged with possession of drugs. That person’s name hasn’t been released. Detectives identified another scene at the Motel 6 on Frontage Road East in Myrtle Beach where Police were informed that the people involved were at the Bermuda Sands Motel on North Ocean Boulevard. One person was found with non-life threatening injuries and a large amount of drugs was located at that hotel. 8 people are in custody in connection with the incidents.
