8 Dead After Shootings In Atlanta Overnight

Overnight, 8 people were killed at 3 Atlanta area spas and several others were injured. Police have not yet determined a motive in the attack but because of the victims backgrounds, some public officials and organizations have raised concerns about ethnicity.  6 of the 8 who died were Asian women. The shootings, which happened in the span of about an hour, started at a massage parlor 30 miles northwest of Atlanta then two more shootings occurred at parlors in northeastern Atlanta. South Korea’s Foreign Ministry has been in touch with it’s building in the city and say that four victims were of Korean ethnicity. 21 year old, Robert Long was taken into custody about 150 miles south of Atlanta. Police believe he was responsible for the three attacks. The victims have not been publicly identified as authorities are working to notify their families.
