3 Killed, Others Injured In Car Crash In San Diego
Yesterday morning, a vehicle plowed into a group of pedestrians in San Diego killing 3 people. During a press conference, San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit said the driver, identified as 71 year old Craig Voss, is facing three counts of vehicular manslaughter in addition to five counts of causing great bodily injury while committing a felony and one count of driving under the influence. Three people died at the scene and six others were reported injured. At least 2 were taken to the hospital in critical condition. After the accident, Voss attempted to administer first aid, identified himself to officers and was cooperative. Mayor Todd Gloria said most, if not all of the people that were gathered near the underpass sidewalk were homeless. Many were seeking shelter from the rain in the tunnel. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
