Royals Respond to Claims Made by Harry and Meghan in Oprah Interview

Days after Orpah’s interview with Meghan and Harry aired, Buckingham Palace has responded. The official statement, written on behalf of the Queen, read as follows: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.” It finished with “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
It was a very safe and short response following numerous bombshell revelations that has the potential to impact the royal family’s reputation for years to come. Mo one else from the royal family has dared offer any further comments to reporters either, despite making multiple public appearances. Many are critical of the institution’s response, saying it’s not enough. Calls have been made for a full investigation to be conducted into Meghan and Harry’s claims of racism and neglect.
