Lumberton Woman Fatally Shot While Driving Car with Children Inside

A Lumberton woman was killed yesterday afternoon while driving a car with multiple other people, including her young children, inside. 23-year-old Brittany Hunt was driving on Meadow View Road near Linkhaw Road around 2:30 p.m. when she was shot. Hunt lost control of her car as a result and crashed into a canal. A 20-year-old male and Hunt’s 5-year-old twins were also reportedly inside the vehicle at the time. Everyone was rushed to the hospital, which is where Hunt was pronounced dead. The conditions of the other three occupants is unknown. The Lumberton Police Department is investigating.
