Senate Passes $1.9 Trillion Coronavirus Relief Bill
Over the weekend, the Senate voted to approve President Biden’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill. But there’s still more work to be done before Americans can begin receiving those individual stimulus checks. The next step in the process is bringing the over 600-page bill back to the House for yet another vote. This is because the Senate made changes to the bill after the House already approved it, including tightening the eligibility requirements for the stimulus checks. The House must now vote in favor of the package again but with these new changes in mind. That vote is scheduled for tomorrow and is expected to fall right along party lines as it did in the Senate. Only after the house vote, can the legislation be brought to President Biden’s desk for his signature. That’s expected to take place sometime later this week. When it finally does, Americans should receive their stimulus checks fairly quickly. It’s been said the first checks could be sent out as soon as a few days after the president signs the bill.
