Flood Relief Will Soon be Available to Local Horry County Residents

Some good new for local residents who suffer from repeated flooding issues…The latest approval of federal aid means options for flood relief will soon be available to families living along the Intracoastal Waterway. Residents will be able to either participate in Horry County’s buyout program or receive additional funds to have homes raised later this year. The exact neighborhoods that will be impacted have yet to be determined, but we will keep you up to date. In addition, state lawmakers have requested to speak with North Carolina energy companies and discuss issues with their dams which are believed to have caused extensive flooding along the Pee Dee River.
