Statewide “Last Call” Order Restricting Alcohol Sales to be Lifted Tonight
Starting tonight at 11 p.m., Governor’s McMaster’s statewide order restricting alcohol sales will be lifted. The “Last Call” order went into effect in July and prohibited the sale of alcohol in restaurants and bars after 11 p.m. It was implemented to help slow the spread of Covid-19 but many bar and restaurant owners said they suffered financially from it since they earned most their money after hours. Many had to lay off staff and cut hours as a result over the last year. Some tourists and business owners have expressed relief now that the order is now finally being lifted.
