Flooding Worsens in Horry County Residential Areas Near Rivers
Flooding levels in Horry County are worsening and forcing local law enforcement and government to taken action. As of yesterday evening, Horry County has moved to Operating Condition Level 2. This means as waters continue to rise along the Waccamaw River in Conway and the Intracoastal Waterway in Socastee, the Emergency Operations Center will be activated but in a limited, virtual scope. Police have now also established control points in neighborhoods where flooding has occurred. Only residents will be allowed to enter the flooded areas. They will need proof of address, such as an ID or a bill, to get through.
