SC District Attorney Resigns Following President Biden’s Request

The South Carolina district attorney has resigned at the request of President Biden. In the last few weeks, the president has asked almost all state attorneys appointed under former President Trump to relinquish their positions. Attorney Peter McCoy took office less than a year ago. His resignation will go into full effect this Sunday at at 11:59 p.m. McCoy said “it has been the honor of a lifetime to serve our great nation and beloved state of South Carolina as United States Attorney.”
