Massive Fire Caused by Train Crash May Burn for Several Days

We have an update in the massive train crash and explosion that occurred in Cameron, Texas yesterday. Just before 7 .m., an 18-wheel truck hit a 110-car train carrying chemicals, gasoline, coal, and other hazardous materials. The first 11 cars sparked a huge explosion and fire. A specialized fire crew arrived on scene with heavy equipment to fight the blaze which is expected to burn for several days. A car further down the train was filled with phosphoric acid solution but was unhooked and moved to safety before it could catch fire. It’s believed the driver of the truck lost control and was unable to stop. He swerved around a parked vehicle into a rail crossing which led to the accident. The fire burned a barn down but fortunately nobody was hurt or killed. Most people who were initially evacuated from their homes have since returned. An investigation into the crash is now being conducted.
