Largest Vaccination Event in Our Area to Be Held at Darlington Raceway

McLeod Health has plans to vaccinate thousands of people next week. The hospital system has announced plans for clinics next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and a drive through event next Friday at the Darlington Raceway. At each site, 5,000 doses will be available.

The president of McLeod Health, Kerry Tharp says “If you are racing to get the vaccine out, then what better place to do it than a racetrack”.  This is the biggest mass vaccination event in the Pee Dee area so far. Patients will file through the racetrack tunnel and onto the infield, where they will get a shot at the racetrack cup garage. Officials say everyone who gets a shot at these events will be able to get a second dose at appointments held at the same sites. For more information visit this website.
