Supreme Court Declines to Halt Turnover of Former President Trump’s Tax Returns

The Supreme Court issued a ruling just hours ago regarding President Trump’s tax returns. The high court declined to stop the turn-over of Trump’s tax returns to a New York prosecutor. This is all part of an ongoing investigation into reports of “possibly extensive and protracted criminal conduct at the trump organization.” The documents will still be restricted from the general public, but they will be made available as evidence on the case. Initially, the former President fought tooth and nail to keep his forms from being released at all. Now, he will no longer be able to hamper the investigation by keeping these documents private through lawsuits. SCOTUS waited months to rule on the case, with their last written brief filed on October 19th. They did not offer any explanation for the delay, nor did they offer any comments or noted dissent on their final ruling.
